Joe joined DAA in 2014. His initial work was comprised of the implementation of a SQL database in order to create a 2D representation of the inner components of various turbo compressor models for Dresser-Rand. This work was developed using C# as well as XML to interface with the SQL database. Currently consulting at Electric Boat in Groton, CT. His most recent project involves supporting a team for the development of automated drafting software, in Java, for submarine component fabrication. All aforementioned projects manipulated Siemens NX design environment.
On Site Gas Systems (2 years)
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, Joe developed product drawings for customers and manufacturing regarding oxygen and nitrogen gas producing systems using SolidWorks. These systems incorporated either pressure swing absorption or membrane gas separation principles. FEA modeling that is available in SolidWorks was used for virtual load and pressure testing of components for preliminary design verification. All programming exposure was with Panasonic and Allen Bradley software which consisted of ladder logic and structured text.
